Hi there,

If you are not into PSExec (sysinternals) or your company has locked it down due to recent ransomware activities then you can do the following:

Invoke-WmiMethod -Class Win32_Process -Name Create -ArgumentList “repadmin /showrepl”

Of course you could just ran the utilities from your management workstation as the work remotely natively and you simply use the appropriate switch to specify a domain controller to run against. Just need RSAT installed.

Kind regards.

I personally prefer Invoke-Command.

Agreed but assumed (probably wrongly) that Invoke-Command required PSRemoting to be enabled and this might not be the case for the environment in question :)

Happy to be corrected and have my knowledge increased.

This is actually a place where "weirdness ensues".

Windows Remote Management (WinRM) uses like two TCP ports.

Remote Management is COM+ based and can use hundreds of ports.

What is available in a given environment is dependent on many factors.

When I write enterprise scripts... I first try WinRM and then I try RM.
