What do you normally use for your labs? Do you buy your own hardware and build it or use services like https://www.digitalocean.com? Trying to figure out the best way to build or purchase a service for my lab where will be mainly used for studies.
Thanks

I have my own stuff plus a couple of things in Azure with my employer's Visual Studio/MSDN Azure credits.

HP Microservers (stuff them with SSDs if you want to run VMs)

Cisco SG-300 (L3 switch) handles most of the routing as the core

HP PS1810 L2 switch (stackable with the HP Microservers) to do any distribution to the VMs (or the rest of my home)

Using TP-Link auranet WAPs (they can do VLAN tagging so I can dump guest users into the DMZ VLAN)
