Are enterprises still using RADIUS (or similar) authentication protocols?

Greetings all,

The question is in the subject... do enterprises still use RADIUS for authentication? It was popular for VPN and wireless access for a time, but I haven't heard anyone mention it in forever, and I was curious.

I see it all the time for VPN still. VDI and Citrix I see it used fairly frequently too.

Thanks,

Yes, in fact it seems to be a requirement in Higher Ed for eduRoam.

Hi Gill,

We are using EAP-TLS authentication against the wireless for all devices (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android)

Yes, we use it for wireless.

2nd posting, BTW - first was rejected as unauthorized.

We'll see if this one gets through.

Hi,

Can someone comment on windows radius server and it's ability to be fault tolerant. We are trying to bring up one server on the east coast and one on the west coast. From what I gather you can do something with load balancing but a fault tolerance would

have to be built around back / restore from some kind of media. I can use a third party tool such as double take to keep them in sync but Rather not. I started thinking that maybe a script that can run every so often and mirror it on the back up server , but

I am just curious has anyone setup a hot / cold , fault tolerant / on standby server which stays in sync with the backup box ?  Right now the only solution is to create the same entry on both servers manually or use back and restore.

Thanks
